Windows XP - Vista (these seem to be the FTDI cable drivers) Windows 7 - 8 - 10 (these seem to be the FTDI cable drivers) This is what the Easy BMW Tools contained: ![]() "Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." It also installed NCSDummy, NCS Expert, Tool32, and WinKFP, but I haven't used them other to verify they come up when I doubleclick on them.īut I tested all the icons that Mikes Easy BMW Tools installed, where the only thing that did not work is BMW Coding Tool, which comes up with an error: That installed INPA & EDIABAS (which is all you really need - where EDIABAS seems to be the required underlying software that makes everything else work). I clicked on that file and up came "Mikes Easy BMW Tools" installation. In that directory is a file called 'setup.exe".Ĭ. Unzipping that created a directory called EasyBMWTools_20170527.ī. ![]() The only thing I *used* was the EasyBMWTools_20170527.zip file (177,457 KB) from the BMW Coding Online site.Ī. So the answer to your question is that I don't think you need the BMW_DVD_20170122, which even the cable seller told me by email. The BMW_DVD_20170122 download link on the web site failed and the second one (which the cable seller provided to me) worked - but I never used it. Click to expand. This is a good question since I downloaded FAR MORE than I actually used.
